| Who is Brown Paper Tickets? |
We are you.
We are ticket buyers and event producers. We go to small intimate shows and big commercial festivals. We've worked as concert promoters. We've sold tickets in community theaters and in stadium box offices. We've even worked at other ticketing companies. We've seen the blood, sweat, and tears that go into producing an event because we've sweat, bled, and cried, too.
As a company, we've been doing this ticketing thing for about ten years. But if our crew all lined up across the shop floor, our combined experience producing and attending events would span decades. Along the way we've worked with some amazing people and learned some important lessons, like how a ticketing company should behave and how it should not. How we want to be treated and how to treat others.
We've built this company to provide the kind of service we would want for ourselves. We don't answer to shareholders and venture capitalists. We answer to us - the ticket buyers and event producers of the world. We built this service for us, because we are you.

| Why are you like that? |
In the heady days of the late 1990s, William Scott Jordan was running an event listing website called EventNation.com. The forums on EventNation were noisy with event-goers discussing everything about live events, including their experiences with different ticketing services. Listening in, William heard two things loud and clear: people were unhappy with the enormous service charges tacked onto their ticket purchases and the lack of customer service provided by ticketing companies.
He decided to fix the problem, and in 2000, Brown Paper Tickets was born. The core of the business was, and continues to be, low service fees and excellent customer service. William wanted to create a ticketing service that would be accessible to everyone, so he made the decision to never charge event producers to sign up or sell tickets. We will ticket anything, our service is completely free to event producers, and our ticket buyer fee is the lowest in the industry.
Hey, it worked!
William Scott Jordan is nine years older and the CTO and President of a thriving business. We have a 24-hour staffed call center for both ticket purchases and producer tech support, as well as all-day and all-night online ticket sales. We have ticketed more than 75,000 events, and have over 15,000 unique event producers. Our market consists of concerts, theater, film festivals, comedy shows, alternative sports like roller derby, fundraisers, food and wine events, conventions, lectures, classes, dance competitions, parties, tours, holiday events, and much more. In a nutshell, any event you can possibly think of that would need ticketing or registration.
Brown Paper Tickets is currently headquartered in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, and employs around 50 people. Across the way in Edinburgh, Scotland, we have another small but mighty team.
We're Not Just for Profit
Brown Paper Tickets operates as a Not-Just-For-Profit business. Not-Just-For-Profit companies realize that while it's good to have a profitable business, it's essential to do right by your people and give back to the community. All of our full-time employees have health insurance, a window, and a free monthly bus pass. One of the ways we give back is by donating 5% of our profits to charitable organizations involved with human rights, children, animals, and the environment. When you buy a ticket from us, you choose which category you want your percentage to go.
